My Sport came with a white strap, which I didn't like. My black band was just delivered. Thought I would share a picture of the combination for anybody who is interested. I like it.

(Sorry for the hairy arms. I know some people are offended by them :D)

That looks perfect to me, and is exactly why I'm also awaiting the delivery of a black sports band for my white banded sports watch :D

Yeah, I love it. I had a space grey sport 38mm before this watch, and I prefer this combination. I also have a 38mm SS (that I bought for a friend, who decided against it) and I prefer the silver sport/black band combination to SS/modern buckle.

Great look IMO. Not sure why Apple didn't offer this combination to begin with.

Looks great! :) It's the exact combo I wanted to buy, but I talked myself into the SS with black sport strap.

Bought my wife the 38mm sport watch with a pink band, but she's decided she also wants a black band for dressier occasions. Nice to see the combination pictures, OP. Looking at 3 weeks for delivery.

That's exactly the consideration that makes me wonder if the lack of a silver/black sport combination was to push some towards stainless.

Hope your wife is enjoying the watch! Assuming that you both have one, have you been using the digital touch feature?

We've used it a few times, but when I'm at work I never know if she's wearing her watch or not, so I've been hesitant to use it.

Mine never leaves my wrist. I'm a basically a cyborg at this point. She doesn't wear hers when doing housework (she's a stay-at-home mom), so it's hit or miss during the day.

What would be nice would be if Apple designed a system that only let you send a digital touch if the other person's watch is actually on their arm. The D.T. system does know who has a watch and who doesn't, but not whether or not their actively wearing it.

I got a 38mm SS watch for a friend, and having worn it for a day he decided to sell it and wait for a 42mm. Despite the fact that he has reset it, and hasn't used it for over a week the digital touch option still appears on his contact on my watch. Maybe there's a de-registration option as for iMessage.

Out of interest, does your wife not wear the watch while doing housework to protect it? I would expect the watch to consider a lot of housework to be 'exercise', so if she's at all interested in measuring those metrics she may want to get a case and continue wearing it.

That's what I keep telling her, lol.

Even put a screen protector on it. For some reason, she was nervous at first about wearing it, though she's not a traditional watch wearer, so I think she was worried about bashing it against something. We have AppleCare+ for it so I've done about all I can to make her at ease.

She's getting better about it, though.

She loves her iPhone 6 Plus, so it's hard to separate her from it I guess.

Hopefully she will come around. The biggest single benefit of the watch for me when I'm at home is that I can leave my iPhone in its dock and still send/receive calls, texts and notifications.
