iPhone Sim Activation Problem

hiii. i have updated my 3gs to ios 6.0.1 nd it needs the sim activation. but i dont have sim with the iphone came. so please tell me how i can solve this activation problem..

You dont know what carrier your iphone is locked to?
Not sure if you can find out but I think you can enter your imei or serial number on some online database check for more details.
Cant remember the exact website though.
