Sim card not supported on ios 5 with 3GS?

Since attempting to install ios 5, I can't get any further on the installation as apparently my sim card is not supported...

Can anyone help me?

I have the same problem. Was working fine on iOS 4 but updated to find SIM card not supported on iOS 5. Restored back to iOS 4 to find no SIM detected. So basically it seems to have bricked my iPhone.

Thanks for the feedback! I take it you have a 3GS too? I guess it's a trip to an Apple store tomorrow then!
