Unless the iphone we buy is not unlocked.
Anyone know if it is unlocked?

Nobody REALLY knows with 1000% certainty BUT it is all but ASSUMED even by the most 'hopeful' that the iPhone will be LOCKED to the AT&T Network (since they have the iPhone exclusive in the US). PPL in other countries will have to wait till the iPhone is introduced in their location.

thanks dave
Just found out that here in canada, at&t n our carrier rogers are merged together. So crossing fingers.

I don't want to spam the forum, as I did mention this in another thread, but has it even been verified that the SIM card will be accessible?

1. The SIM card is accessible. See other posts or MacRumors home page for links to see how to access it.

2. As long as the iPhone is locked, only ATT network SIMs will work in the iPhone. By the same token, the iPhone SIM could be taken out and used in any other ATT phone, or any unlocked phone.

3. There was a story on MacNews saying that folks in India are already working on unlocking iPhones, and that the process wasn't that difficult. If anyone manages to unlock the iPhone, then any network's SIM card should work in it.
