Just watched the keynote event. They failed to mention when the sim-free version would be available. Based on the past does anyone know how long it takes them to release it?

I'm wondering the same thing. I'm planning to go to Asia in two weeks and would like to purchase a sim-free iPhone 7 for use there. Am wondering whether the new iPhone 7 will be supported in Asia.

Depending on where you purchase, some models are locked to the carrier even if bought outright and some models lack radios and bands other countries use.
