I have been recording some tapes onto my computer and the breaking them into peaces with quicktime pro. I would like to add a simple fade in and out at the end of the song. How would I do this? Thanks

Not sure how to do this in QT, but Sound Studio (which should have come with your Mac for free) will do everything you need it to, and more. Plain and simple!

I have a new Powerbook but I didn't get Sound Studio with it! But I will go to there website and get it. Thanks

No problem. Sound Studio is great for things like that - it's simple but just as powerful as Pro apps for tasks like that. Quite a great little (free!) program!
