I've been beta testing the 2.0 build of SimplyTweet for about a few weeks now, and its excellent. A great thing is that the push notifications are for all direct messages and mentions, not just direct messages and mentions from other SimplyTweet users. I suggest you try the lite version first, which has no ads, just limited features (and no push). If you like it, buy the full version. Another great thing: This dev (MotionObj) ads new features like crazy. You can expect big updates to the app every week or two with great new features.

I just posted it. Lol. PM me, gots a question to see if you have the same glitch as I do.

Dang it. I checked for similar threads before I started composing the thread, but I left my computer for a bit and came back to finish it like 20 minutes later. Guess you posted it while I was away

I'd say definitely worth looking at. While it has less features than the paid (obviously) it still has tons of features. I know people who use the lite version as their main twitter app.

I know that currently the lite version doesn't have push, but I would guess it may be updated soon to have some push features, though you may be limited to only a few pushed items a day since its the lite version.

I just discovered the lack of push with the lite version. I wont be buying any other twitter apps(I have twittelator) until one proves the push theory well. Thanks for the info!

Here's a review of 2.0 by Stephen Ingraham, and he says:

Did I say Push Notifications…push notifications that work the way you always expected push to function. I did!
SimplyTweet stands to be the first full featured Twitter app out the door with truely functional Push Notifications.

I've been beta testing as well and I have to say, it's a damn good app. I can also vouch (and I haven't even been testing that long, maybe two weeks) that updates are like crazy and new features are always being added. I love devs that continue to improve their apps.

I'll throw my vote in for SimplyTweet as well. I've been testing for quite a while and can vouch for the constant updates.

Push notifications have been on the money so far as well.

Yep, I use SimplyTweet as my main clientand this new version is pretty cool. Nice clean look and push working well. A good update to an already good app.

Darn, another thread about SimplyTweet. For consistency I'll post here too, till either the threads merge or whatever, but yes SimplyTweet 2.0 is very good and happy w/ the Push.

So I upgraded to 2.0. Had a friend @mention me and I didn't get a push notification. Same with a dm. What do I need to do to get it to work?

For those who haven't seen it. SimplyTweet 2.0 With Push is amazing! Link is in my signature! Go and get it!! :D

hmmmmm...... well the push worked for me.... i got a DM and it came through just like a text message! i'm disappointed in the themes cuz i thought it would be the bubbles but in different colors... i'd really have liked the pink done in bubbled rather than just the boxes.....

however.... the app won't work on hubby's phone???? it keeps "crashing" out???? he's deleted and redownloaded it several times but it still keeps doing it!?????

Yep there is a bug that causes the app to crash at startup. From the app store description:
Known BUG: The application crashes if you load a mentions or direct messages timeline when they are empty. The workaround is to send yourself a mention or direct message (i.e. send yourself one and don't empty the timelines after that).

So he can send himself a DM and mention himself, or go to the settings app and set it so that the DM and mentions timelines don't load at startup.

Send me a PM and I can help you out.

I've been testing this for a few weeks - works well. It checks for updates around every 5 to 10 minutes, but if you've had the app open it seems to check more often straight after, in case you've got a reply to something you just tweeted. Pretty clever really.

I did a short piece on my blog the other day: Here

What's up with all these Tweeter apps on the AppStore.

I find it hard to know which is the best.

I'm not sure if there's more Fart apps or Twitter apps. Gosh! In the end they all do the same...why is there a need for 20 or more of them. ~_~.
