My girlfriend wants to buy the latest MB. She wants the big white one and I told her to upgrade to 2GB of RAM.

I'd like to know if she will be able to play the sims 2 on it. With what settings and what average of FPS will she get.

I know MB aren't meant for gaming but thats about the only demanding game she'll be playing (so it's not worth paying 600$ for a MBP).

Thanks in advance

Wow man...that was WAYYYYY too much helpfull. I mean, I didn't even know what was google. Thanks a lot Sherlock.

Seriously, I've check over the internet and I just don't find any good answer.

Can I please get some real answer, specs are nothing, I want someone who has a MB and tried it.

Next time you got some stupid answers like that...keep them for you.

Well i did, but most of the test were done on old MB if I remember well. And there was many different opinions but people didn't their computer spec so I can't know if they had an old version with low RAM.

It doesn't matter in this regard whether it was tested on an old macbook: the graphics chipset is the same as the new ones.

There have been mixed opinions on this, general consensus being that you need at least 2Gb of RAM to just about manage.

However, due to the macbook not having a dedicated graphics card, it's not going to run that well. For gaming, you're better off with a macbook pro.

if you use sims 2 on xp it will run a lot better. I tried the mac version and it was really slow and unplayable even with just 2 sims around. however when i tried sims 2 using bootcamp it ran fine with all the settings turned down low. i think i read somewhere that the gma950 uses 64mb shared on osx and 128 or 256 on xp im not really sure

I've been able to run The Sims 2 on my Black MacBook with 1gb. It runs alright, slightly choppy, but nothing too bad. I'm sure with 2 gb it'd run better.
i just had it on default settings.. whenever i changed them, it messed everything up :)
