Sims 2 on Windows...how to use delete key?

Ok, this is for my gf, she has been complaining that she can't use the delete key to delete something because the Mac keyboard delete key is like backspace. Does anyone know how to set it up so she can delete stuff? And I know the sims are available for OS X...not an option, have too many sims for Windows.

What computer is it? If it's a laptop, pressing fn-delete will be like pressing the "del" key on PC keyboards. Apple's desktop keyboards already have that key.
