I just got a macbook its 13 " and the white one and i also have sims 3 that i really wanna play im having alot of trouble installing im pretty sure my mac meets the expectation to the game. When i put the game in and click on the game the sims logo bounces than disapears instantly.I figured out how to get the installer to work but now it doesnt go past 3 out of 237. does anyone know how i can get this game to install

Sims 3 works fine for me, but I have a 21.5" iMac, so I can't tell what's wrong with your setup. Call up their support or talk to the place where you bought it.

File 3!!

Omg- I am having the same exact problem! I am on a Macbook Pro (15-in running 10.5.8...)

Last year when the game came out I had it installed and I was able to play it- and then I deleted it and now I am trying to install it again and it just keeps getting stuck on file three!! SOMEONE HELP US PLEEEEASEE....

Me too, except installation won't go past file 207 out of 237.

I'm kinda annoyed because I really want to play. Plus, I've done this about 5 times, and now I've lost ~20GBs from my hard drive, and I can't find any Sims 3 files via Spotlight and manual searching.

What the hell.

Assuming that your Macs meet the system requirements, it sounds like you may have defective discs.

I'm positive my Mac meets the system requirements. After running Disk Inventory X, I found that it had partially installed several times in several hidden folders in the Applications folder (i.e., it installs 4.6GB, then stalls).

I guess I'll take the game back to Best Buy. Bummer. Thanks for the reply.

did you guys ever figure out how to fix it... cos i downloaded mine from the EA website, and it keeps getting stuck on file 550 or something and i've done it at least 5 times. please help me! im so frustrated. especially because i cant return it if it doesn't work. thanks!

i dont think its my game because i bought a new one and it did the same thing. i also tried it on my dads macbook and it still wouldnt work.i have no clue what is wrong with it

I'm having the SAME problem, it doesn't go past file 3, I played the game last year and it was working just fine, maybe it isn't compatible with snow leopard?

help

New MBPs

Sorry to drudge up an old thread, but how is the Sims 3 working on the new NVIDIA GeForce GT 330M with 256MB video cards? I'm thinking of upgrading from my current Black Macbook (Early 08) for law school.

BTW, do you think 8GB RAM is worth the $340?

I have the GT 130 on my iMac and it works decently enough. However, if I set my graphics to high some of my custom installed cars don't show properly forcing me to use lower settings. Sims 3 also tended to crash randomly on higher settings too.
