can you connect it to the desktop version? i am about to buy the mac version for our iMac and would love to be able to play the same world and families on my iPhone...

It is definitely worth 10$ as the developers have done a very good job and didnt treat iPhone version as an inferior option. Read my detailed take on Sims 3 for iPhone I posted on another thread if you are interested.
