Hi everyone,
I rarely post on this site but I'm a regular visitor.
Anyway, my question is, is it possible to run any Sims games on my MacBook Pro? The machine's specs are as follows:
MacBook Pro (13 inch, mid 2009)
2.53 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo Processor
4 GB 1067 MHz DDR3 Memory
NVIDIA GeForce 9400M 256 MB Graphics Card
and I'm currently running Mac OSX Lion 10.7.4
I've basically given up on TS3. I can install the base game, and download one update - but past that, it never downloads any more patches. I've tried adding all of my expansion packs on without the patches, and it was a nightmare.
However, I do still enjoy TS2, and even The Sims. The reason I ask is because while I do have the option of using my fiancee's Windows 7 machine for games, it is a desktop. Currently, my elderly dog is terminally ill and he is not allowed on the carpeted areas of the house as per our lease agreement (obviously, this would mean he couldn't sit by me while I play on my fiancee's machine, and he probably wouldn't be all that comfortable doing so anyhow).
I really desperately want to spend as much time with him as I can, and as a Uni student spend a lot of my time sitting by him studying while he sleeps. The issue is when I'm done reading for the day, and the dog is dozing, I want to do something to keep my mind active but still want to be snuggled up with him. My fiancee works full time, and when he does get home he's either messing around on the DS or too tired to socialise.
I'm probably rambling again. My point being, is, I'd be willing to buy The Sims 2 for Mac if people could confirm for me that it will run smoothly and reliably on the machine because I foresee using it even after the dog passes, either whilst travelling or during lengthy hospital/specialist/doctor's visits (my fiancee is disabled). It's just too expensive to buy in the hope that it might work.
Thanks in advance for your opinions and experiences.
