Have seen this problem with 2 series 10 Apple Watches:

The Series 10 will NOT charge past 80%. even with "Optimized Charging" turned OFF in Apple Watch Settings.

I only noticed this problem since upgrading to 11.0.1. Anyone else seeing this?

Workaround:

After doing the above, when putting the watches on their charger,
1) press the charging circle that appears soon after.
2) Tap "charge to full" or something like that

So annoying. I hate that 80% limit.

I started seeing this too. Never had this prior to iOS 11.0.1.

Is it showing up every single time you charge your Apple Watch ⌚️? For me it only does that sometimes if I charge it very frequently.

Been happening for me every morning and I haven’t changed my routine. Never did it before.
Same here, but Series 9 version. Tried pressing the charging ring, but nothing changed. Also using about 15% battery every hour. Tried restarting, turning off background refresh, etc. and no change. Finally unpaired and re-paired (for the 2nd time) this morning. Three hours later, battery is at 99%. I had never seen the alert about optimized battery on my watch before this morning. I also believe it has something to do with the latest update, because it was working fine before that. Battery health is at 100% one year after purchase.

I updated to 11.1 beta and it’s fixed.
Apple whitewashed my posts from their community. They should be arrested.

Every time
If it’s a series 8 or under you can disable the optimized battery charging which also disables this charge limit altogether. On Apple Watch Ultra and S9 onwards they must be disabled separately.

I only like it if I charge my watch above 70% and I need it in a pinch such as going for an errand and I disable it manually if I need to charge it fully for a long day such as travel or long day at work.
