My phone is an iPhone 13 Pro.
Can anybody help with this?

Hey!!! iPhone 12 user here. Ever since the last update, I cannot text photos to my husband at all ( Samsung Galaxy 5 user ) Fails everytime and then at some point he will get them when I ask him if he ever got them.

Also typing in messages and just about everywhere else ( slack, Gmail, messages) is now locking up or there is a NOTICEABLE LAG.

Apple please fix this!!!

My problem started immediately after the update (within an hour or two).
Occasionally a sent photo will go through, but only after several attempts.
Mostly not at all though.
I'm not necessarily a believer in "post hoc, ergo propter hoc" (after this, therefore because of this), but this is certainly an unusual coincidence otherwise.
Keep in touch.

Green texts with images go as MMS, which is a very old protocol and I think it's more network dependent than the phone itself.

I had one sent just two days ago and it went through.

And yeah, the keyboard typing sucks big. It improved compared to 17.0, where I could type a long message, go make a coffee and the phone was still typing

What's the alternative?

  1. Ask the android users to switch to iPhone
  2. Wait for RCS on iPhone (next year?)
  3. Use a 3rd party app to message the green friends (Signal for example)
RCS will solve these issues and replace MMS, but it's coming Q1-Q2 2024 (thanks to EU)

My messages appear in green.
Should I be changing a setting to send texts more effectively?
Maybe I'm doing something wrong here.
If I am, It wouldn't surprise me.

Messages (SMS and MMS) will appear green unless iMessage. Droids don't get iMessage, only apple to apple.

There's nothing you can do. Check if you have a carrier update tho.
