Since Catalina, external USB drive won't stay on at all times?

For my 2018 Mac Mini, I have an external USB 3 drive attached for my media. With 10.14 and prior, I have been using an app called "Keep Drive Spinning" so that USB drive won't go to sleep. However, since upgrading to Catalina, I don't think that app is doing its job.

Does anyone know other apps or another way to keep an external USB drive always "on" and not going into sleep mode? Thanks!

try resetting the nvram and the SMC for your mac; why don't you want the drives to sleep? spinning constantly will shorten their life (just mentioning)...
