Single AirPod V2 battery life.

I’ve been wondering about battery life if only one AirPod is used.

I can use my AirPods at work, but I’d only be able to use one in my left ear since I have hearing loss in my right ear. I still tend to use both AirPods when working out as I can hear certain tones and beats, but lyrics are distorted due to hearing loss.

My questions are; if I constantly use the left AirPod only will the battery life of the left AirPod degrade much faster? Can I somehow use the right AirPod in my left ear comfortably? Does Apple service individual AirPods if this is an issue?
