Hi,

I'm looking to buy some new RAM for my new Mac Pro. It came with 32GB (4x 8GB) and I'll replace this with 6x 32GB. Please can someone confirm that I'm buying the correct RAM for my Mac Pro? It's a 16 core model. I'm looking to buy RDIMM, ECC ram.

DDR4 PC4-23400
DUAL RANKED
REGISTERED
ECC
DDR4-2933

Thank you

there are reports of success stories with even certain quad and octal rank DDR4 memory modules with the MP7,1 .

I'm not terribly worried since I have successfully tested in macOS 1.5TB of eight rank DDR4 in these machines .

With the cMPs we had to be careful to install only single and dual rank DDR3 modules for the highest capacities .

With the modules installed in your Mac , just make certain they are matched and balanced .

Your choice seems good : DDR4 , dual rank , registered ( RDIMM ) , ECC , 2933 MHz , six modules .

Do not mix these with load reduced ( LR-DIMM ) modules in the same System .
