Single stuck pixel worth getting a new one?

My MacBook has developed a single stuck pixel.

ARGH!

It's really not noticeable except against a black background where it's cyan. Otherwise it just looks like a speck of dirt. You can see it if you look for it though.

Does Apple even cover this sort of thing? A single dead pixel? Or do you need to have like 3 or 4? I like to think that Apple's coverage is better than most.

The problem is that I got this MacBook in China, and I can be damn sure that they won't give me a new one, and if they do, it'll take months, probably. When I move to Canada, I suppose I could register the notebook and bring it into the Apple Store, but even if they do decide that it warrants a replacement/repair, I don't know if I can afford to lose my MacBook for a week, since I'll be in college.

What do you guys think? Is this covered? And if so, is it worth bringing it in?

No, you won't be able to return it for one stuck pixel. You need 8+ in a small area.

If it's really stuck (and not dead), it can be fixed. Google for ways to find certain programs that will cycle through the spectrum to un-stick the pixel. If worse comes to worse, you can try to massage it.

Alright, I'm running JScreenFix now. No results as of yet though.

Any tips on screen massaging? The ballpoint pen thing sounds dangerous. The MacBook screens are rather flimsy.

I haven't had experience with this, but could you just try using your finger?

I've massaged many a stuck pixel back to life. I can also usually tell the ones that won't come back before I start. Just use a microfiber cloth to do it and don't press too hard, and try to stay in the area of the stuck pixel.

Something interesting is that it's not really "stuck," per se. Its not red, green or blue, but it's "tinted." It changes colour according to what it SHOULD be displaying. Against dark, black, or dark greyish backgrounds, it's a sort of bright cyan, and is most visible. Against white, however, it is a very faint pink.

Will massaging still work on this?

I guess it should... It doesn't seem dead as light is still shining through it.
