Hi everyone,

I've just taken out an old G5 from my cupboard as in saving to buy a new Mac Pro. (Get used to OS X again)

It's a tad slow so I'm trying to speed it up where I can, I've upgraded to 4GB ECC, although only 3 is showing :-( and trying to find a copy of Leopard.

What are my options for the CPU? It's a single 1.8GHz at the minute, can I chuck a second CPU in there??

You can not add socond CPU to single G5 systems.

About RAM, did you combined ECC and non ECC modules ?

Thought that would the case, doesn't matter.

I thought I had not, but seems 2 are in fact non-ECC, so this would explain that... So back in the pile they go and out come another ECC pair..
