Single User works, Normal freezes..

Hello everyone,

I have a strange issue with my mac mini. It appears that single user on the main account works with out issues - however when I load it up normally with the same account, it becomes extremely sketchy and freezes after about ten seconds. I don't know how to troubleshoot a mac for this.

Ran Disk Repair and Permissions, both turned up errors and fixed them.

Running 10.4.6 on a PowerPC Mac-Mini (1.42GHz, 1GB Ram, no BT/AP, 80GB)

No idea what's the issue here or howto repair...

I think you have mixed up terminology here..

Do you mean logging in as User X in Safe Mode works, but not a "normal boot"?

Or did you actually mean Single User Mode?

Standard Troubleshooting on a Mac

I logged into single user mode, typed in the command to start the graphical interface. Signed into the troublesome user, worked without issues.

Will look at the links now...
