Hi all,

Anyone have a simple or working solution for Siri misspelling names in texts? My wife's name is Kerri and she always spells it Carey. I've already tried adding Kerri to my keyboard as a replacement, and it doesn't help.

Any suggestions appreciated and cheers!

Go to your wifes contact, add a new field and add "Spelling". There you can add the correct spelling and Siri should get that.

Hmmmmmm ... looked at all the field options but not seeing one for 'spelling'.
Is there a special way to add that custom field?

Ty.

Make sure you're using iOS 17.3.

I am, and I have the options you showed above, but those are pronunciation as opposed to spelling ... unless that is some odd apple way of referencing spelling? Not sure. I've entered it in there to test anyway so we'll see how that works ...

EDIT: Tried adding all those fields and no dice. Still won't spell it right.

you have to try around with it.

For example: The name zach sounds like zack when siri spell it. You have to add maybe "sagg" or whatever sound like it to this fields.

I suspect this problem is linked to the Siri language settings. Try to change language in Siri & Search -> Language to another English variant, from English UK to English US for example.
