I commonly use Siri to request music in my car through Bluetooth. Asked Siri to play a song just a few minutes ago. Siri responded, “ What is your mother’s name?”, which it had never done before. My immediate though was perhaps I was being asked to confirm my Apple ID, so I answered with her name. After a moment, however, I recognized this as unlikely. Now I wonder if somehow my phone or account has been hacked. Should I be worried?

My guess is that Siri misheard you. When I say, “Hey, Siri. Call my mother,” Siri asks for my mother's name as well. Nothing sinister.

I wish I knew how to prompt this. I have a contact listed as (Friend’s name)’s Mom.

Every now and again when I use Siri to call my mom it asks to confirm if I mean to call my friend’s mom...because I keep forgetting that happens every time.

I think best explanation is that Siri misheard me. Thanks, everyone, for your thoughts.
