I have two contacts in my iPhone 4S named Joe.
Joe Smith is my best friend, whom I call every day.
Joe Jones is my plumber, whom I hopefully will never have to call again.
(Names have been changed to protect innocent.)

How can I get Siri to know who I mean when I say, "Call Joe", without having to say, "Call Joe Smith" each time?

Thanks.

I don't have a 4s but i believe u can assign a nickname to anyone. So for example i assume ur mate has a nickname tell siri that you want to call him this nickname and and from then just tell siri to contact him using this nickname.

kind of like "siri john adams is my dad"

"siri call dad" (it phones john adams"

I believe that is how it works

So say siri Joe Joe, is my my bf4eva (lol)"

Then from then on "siri phone/text/facetime/email bf4eva"

Should b that simple :)

You can say "joe smith is my friend", it will assign him as your friend. Then say "call my friend joe".

Find a new plumber :D

Seriously though I am curious to see how this works as well. I have a lot of business associates in my contacts that I very seldom need to call but want the info on hand "just in case".

Have you tried putting "Joe" in as your friend's nickname? I wonder if that would make it override the "Which Joe" question?

My 4S is still backordered from AT&T so can't test it myself :(
