I tried to get Siri to recognize "rural coverage", as in "Verizon has good rural coverage." Nope. Siri does not recognize the word "rural" via dictation. Alexa recognizes it fine.

Try it. She does not understand rural.

There's a good reason why Siri can't understand "rural". All Apple users are sophisticated, urban users who not only do not live in small communities. In fact, they don't know such places exist.

I tried "define rural" a few times in a row – Siri repeatedly interpreted "Define Rurel" and performed a web search on that.

With my messed up Pittsburgh accent (with a dash of Texas), neither Siri nor Google Assistant will ever understand my version of ‘rural’, even if they gain sentience.

Siri consistently hears "rule" when I say "rural" (two syllables) with my Kiwi accent. Interesting!

Worked for me

LOL. First try worked fine.
But I didn’t pronounce it with the rural Kentucky accent of my childhood. The one where “oil” becomes “all” and most two syllable words become three.
