siri: errors 60-70% of the time

Not sure if its just my voice or what but Siri is frustratingly wrong a vast majority of the time (60-70%). I have a deeper voice and unfortunately have a cold/sinus infection (so a bit more nasally than normal) but typically talk clear.

Using my jawbone seems to make things even worse. If I talk really loud and slow she does better but if your too slow she auto stops you.

Anyone else having issues like this? At this point its almost a useless service for most things...

close to 100% accurate for me. I'm pleasantly surprised at how useful Siri is!

I think the accuracy rate on Siri for me is probably 50%. It seems to be more accurate for me when Im giving commands (ie play this, call her, etc) versus asking Siri to do a search or question.

50% of the time, names are the worst, maybe cause of my background (Russian), most of them she doesn't get. For Peter she constantly get theater

I love how they advertise the big "Introducing Siri" deal when I had the app on my 3gs for over a year. Of course they NEVER updated it the entire time. I wonder why? sarcasm...

ANd by the way the old app only worked about 50% of the time and I am one good enunciator lol...

I'd say I'm at around 80% accurate. Every once in a while it misinterprets something. I'm actually starting to find it quite an amazing feature.

It's pretty damn accurate for me. There are certain contexts that it doesn't understand yet, but I'm sure that will get better with time. I find it pretty useful. I understand your Problem OP, i had a cold when I first got my phone, but its fine now. I have noticed if you try to talk too fast and your words blend together, thats when you run into problems.

Remember to talk at normal speeds. These things are created to record our voice at normal tone; if you change the speed of your voice, it might have a harder time actually picking up what you're saying.

And most importantly: properly pronunciate.

I've spent nearly every work day for the last 8 years speaking to a voice recognition system (PowerScribe), so I've gotten very good at annunciating and speak with just the right cadence for speech recognition systems.

I find Siri to be about as accurate as it gets currently without the massive training efforts required by better systems.

I would agree. I've been using Dragon dictation for my MacBook Pro for about three or so months now, and I'm always having some sort of problem with it, either with the wrong word, wrong syntax, or it just not working properly.

However, like this message right here, I can dictated using Siri perfectly with a maximum of one or two mistakes. It really is the best dictation software I have ever used.

I am finding that siri messes up .5 to 1 word per sentence on average. Its not bad, but its bad enough that by having to go bac and correct the word before sending a text or email, i end up wasting more time than i would have just writing it.
