I have this exact issue:

I don't think it's a hardware problem. Because when i deactivate siri, i can use the "old" assistant if i stay longer on the home button and i can also record voice memos.
imo this must be a bug!

Does anyone have the same problem? and hopefully a solution for that :)

I also had this problem with siri and voice dictation. (Siri would come up, but the sound wave graphic didn't come up and couldn't "listen".

1. Restart phone

2. Disbale Siri, restart phone, enable siri

3. Try above with bluetooth headset

4. Try above with 3.5mm headset

Nothing worked.

I had a third party keyboard (swype) installed and enabled. I disabled it and restarted. Siri and voice diction worked fine after the restart. I then enabled swype again. It now works, however Siri seems to stop listening faster than she used to. If I don't talk fast she cuts me off.

You can hold down the home button while you talk if you expect to talk for a bit longer than you think Siri will let you. She won't try to process what you said until you release the home button.
