Siri issues

Well, I've never had this issue with any iphone. I have a 6S, running 9.2.1 .... Siri is enabled, Location Services are on. I'm giving Siri very basic commands, but she/he is coming back with, "I'm sorry, there's a problem". Simple things like, "Set the timer for 2 minutes" ... "create an alarm for 8:30" .... etc.

Not sure what the problem is - these things were not an issue on my 5S. I did a force-restart and that didn't help, either. It won't open apps, either ... I say, "open Garage Band" and it replies saying that I don't have that app when I in fact do have it.

Any help would be appreciated! Thanks

Yep, didn't help. When I ask for the weather forecast, it brings that up ... but when I ask it to open the app, it responds by saying, "it doesn't look like you have that app".

I ask, "where is the nearest Apple Store?", and it brought that up no problem. But it's not working for anything else.

What about changing some Siri settings, like changing the voice from one to another or even between US and UK or something like that? I'm not sure it will help, and I can't recall exactly, but I believe I came across a similar thread not too long ago and I'm trying to recall what ended up helping, and for some reason this thing about changing voices or other settings seems to come to mind. But maybe I'm recalling it incorrectly or the underlying issue might be different after all.

Well, I restored the phone back to factory settings and it seems to have fixed the problem. Siri appears to have all functionality once again. That factory reset is a real pain, but sometimes it's necessary.
