This is on an iPhone 7...same thing with my 6S. I think it has been this way since IOS 9 but I was hoping for a change with IOS 10. It would be nice if Siri at least vibrated when I press and hold home so that I know when to speak without having to look at the phone. Is it a setting I'm missing or is that just the way it is?

Feeling the same way. Somehow I don't remember if it was present in 9.3.2 (didn't do the last two mini-updates of iOS) but I miss it. Even Sierra gives the typical Siri sound.

I still get a small vibration when Siri comes up. Not sure what would control/affect that.

I have "Hey Siri" always enabled. If I say "Hey Siri," and then pause, it does the familiar "Ding-ding" so I know when to continue speaking.

It also usually works if I talk in a continuous stream, such as "Hey Siri, what's the temperature", but I prefer to wait and hear the "I'm listening" tone.

I don't know how many times I've accidentally activated siri and set off a loud ding at work when my phone is on silent. I hope its gone!! I'm too afraid to try right now (at work ;))

After using the Amazon Echo which makes no sound by default after you say "Alexa" I found it to be a blessing in disguise. Technically, you don't have to wait for a sound or buzz to start speaking, you can just say something like Hey Siri turn on the lights, just like that with no hesitation after saying Hey Siri.

I just wish they let you turn on or off dings and vibrate in settings...give the end user the choice. I would at least like to feel the vibrate to know that Siri is activated without looking at the screen.

Weird. I get no vibrate when I press and hold the home button but I DO get a quick vibrate as soon as I stop pressing after I speak a command. Are you sure that's not what you're experiencing?
