Hi Guys,

Has anyone. Noticed this ? is anyone else here facing an issue with this ? I am on iPad OS 17.0.1 the latest OS and even if I have "Allow SIRI when Locked" and when I try to activate SIRI it does not get activated. This is when I have the Apple Magic. Cover closed on the iPad.

That is how I would expect it to behave. My iPad Pro’s Siri does NOT get invoked when the Magic Keyboard is closed.

It used to work fantastically well in 16.6.1.

Did you pay attention and observe then ? It is a bug or Apple has withdrawn that feature.

That has always been the situation for me with my iPads, so whether it is by design, a bug or whatever, I really don’t know.

Make sure this setting is enabled.

It is disabled for me as you can see which is why it doesn’t work when mine is closed therefore as designed.

I am telling you it used to work in 16.6.1 you are again arguing with me to make me sound wrong ??

Oh Christ I give up with this. I tried to help. But you come back with all this rubbish. I’ve told you how it is for me. I’ve given you a suggestion on what to check. Sort it out yourself!

Just wanted to take this opportunity to thank you, it was indeed that setting that had to be enabled in accessibility which is “Always listen for Hey Siri “ and now even when I close my magic cover and I call for Siri it gets activated. This is what I was looking out for which I was saying was working pretty fine before the iPadOS 17 update. Nevertheless better late than never, thank you again for your help and I apologise for my hard words earlier. I’m sorry if I hurt you.

Thanks

There is one more help that I need, there is one more feature that used to work before the iPad iOS 17 update. It seems to have broken right now. So whenever I used to have the iPad Magic cover closed on the iPad and if I would give command. Hey Siri Turn on Bluetooth. It would switch on the Bluetooth which is not happening right now if I close the magic cover on the iPad anybody who has explored this and has a solution for this ?
