Hello!

After updating to IOS 18 on my iPhone 14, I asked Siri to play an album. It asked for access to my Amazon Music app and to confirm the account….which I couldn’t do because I was driving. I don’t want to use Amazon Music. I want it to use the Music app as it always has.

I removed the Amazon Music app and it worked as it always has. I put it back on and it went back to Siri asking to use Amazon Music. If I indicate that I don’t want it to use Amazon Music it doesn’t play anything.

Is this something new in IOS 18 that it defaults to Amazon Music? Or is the more likely explanation that I’m doing something wrong? I don’t see any way to have my iPhone use the Music app as the default music player. For the record, I don’t have this issue on my IPad currently running IOS 18.

Same issue here. If I ask for a track that I may not have or possibly pronounce the name wrong, Siri will try to access Amazon Music. I've removed learn from this app under Amazon Music and that didn't help. I also removed the app from CarPlay and I still have the problem.

Might be nice if they addressed this. I tried a few different things and nothing worked. It kept defaulting to Amazon Music. The ONLY thing that did work was removing the Amazon Music app altogether.

Well….it SEEMS that after the update to 18.0.1 that the issue has been resolved. So far, so good.

Good to know! Last night in trashed Amazon Music but I'll try the update now and bring it back.
