On a few occasions, when I am listening to radio using one of the many Radio Apps, Siri automatically catches a phrase and does a search before it says it can't find what I have requested. This is without pressing the home button to activate Siri. Is this a common occurrence?

Siri problem while listening to the Radio

It sounds like you have "Hey Siri" turned on.
You can disable "Hey Siri" in Settings > General > Siri.
You can disable "Hey Siri" in Settings > General > Siri.
