I think you’ve summed it up well. The reason I have the HomePod is because it works better with my other Apple devices than either the echo or the google Home. It’s true. Siri has some serious downfalls compared to where Alexa and Google voice has increasingly improved in areas where Siri lags. Where Siri does really well is in house commands with controlling iOS functionality for the HomePod, AirPods, Apple Watch, etc. But where Siri struggles is providing relevant search information, misunderstanding various types of words, where Google has no issue in most cases. Siri needs the improvement with dictation and deciphering words. If they can improve in those two areas, Siri will be at the top. I think Apple knows Siri is behind, which is one of the reasons they hired Googles Chief of artificial intelligence to bring the necessary changes to better the Siri experience in iOS.

I asked Siri where the NEXT World Cup will be held. Siri tells me Russia... google Assistant told me Qatar. What kind of questions are we talking about?
It is inconsistent. One day I asked it where a certain place was and it actually told me and the google Home couldn’t tell me what I wanted. Then I asked the same question the next day and HomePod got it wrong.I asked Siri where the NEXT World Cup will be held. Siri tells me Russia... google Assistant told me Qatar.
Edit: funny, when I asked Siri today the same question it gave me Qatar. It’s just very inconsistent.
