So for a different kind of thread, rather than all the complaining about iOS 9, I am curious on how you do search for that song you don't know, do you ask Siri (Shazam) or do you use the Shazam or SoundHound Apps?

Personally I use Siri because of the convenience that it's baked right into the OS, no need for separate apps.

I think Shazam has the better interface but I find I have more success with SoundHound, including lyric discovery.
Too bad SoundHound looks like an ios6 app to this day.
I also like how Soundhound works while playing my music library, in other words it doesn't need to hear the song external from my phone.
So if I want to check lyrics on a song, I go into SoundHound and "Now Playing".
I don't think Shazam has that feature.

Otherwise, I own both premium versions and glad I do.

Also, I don't think Siri works without Shazam so you can throw that option out.

Shazam is built into Siri. You don't need the Shazam app for it to work. So no, don't throw that option out. It's probably the best option, because you don't need to install a whole extra app.
But you have to ask Siri the song...

Shazam, just press the button it does it auto. Simple and easy. I can't imagine asking Siri every couple of minutes for a song at work, school, library, noisy places, etc.

Shazam works better in most places.

There's music playing in a library?

Every couple minutes? That's a bit of an exaggeration.

I've found Siri very useful even in the club :D and way faster than unlocking the phone, hunt the folder and launch the app.

Tip: If you set Siri feedback to hands-free only you'll skip the "Hang on, let me listen" feedback and jump straight to the recognition.

Exactly. All you need to do is hold down the home button, literally say just three words "What is this" and you'll get your result. All without having to unlock the phone and launch an app. Pretty easy and effective and without the need to install more apps onto the phone.

Shazam right now because with 3D Touch I can go right into listening mode and get it quickly. If it's too loud Siri won't hear you which I hate.

I remember in the betas they had it where Siri would start listening to music if you just activated it without having to ask her what the song was. Wish they kept it that way.

Another option you might consider.. Shazam on Apple Watch. I was just playing with this last night while listening to the radio and waiting for my daughter in the car. From the Shazam glance in Apple Watch, you hit the button for it to listen. Once it is done listening, it will give you lyrics autoscrolling on your watch. I was looking like the boss singing songs in the car and no one would know I had the lyrics since my phone was laying on the console.
