"Siri, silence my phone"

Am I correct in that Siri is unable to silence iPhone with a voice command? I think you have to physically use the action button or volume buttons to silence your phone and Siri cannot do it via voice command (?)

I just tried, it didn’t do it for me. Maybe I’m not asking nicely enough.

It would be a convenient feature, but I don't think that this has ever been a thing. You'd think it would at least be something you could set up under Accessibility. Probably not a priority for Apple ... or Siri

I don’t now how, but I ts supposedly can do stuff like that.

Yeah, make a shortcut that sets Silent Mode to On, name it “Silence my Phone”, and it will activate when you say “Siri, silence my phone.”
