I noticed the same thing today morning. I generally go to spotlight search to find my favourite news app in the morning and I found siri was already showing me the latest news from India .

first time when it started to work, i searched for weather at gave me a result but loacation accuracy was way of,
at that time it wasnt showing suggestions when i typed counting stars and also the search bar started to glitch.

day 5: glitches are still there, but the loaction is accurate and also searches are loading properly.

This is from India.
The Spotlight indeed showed the suggestions till last weekend. It has supposedly stopped showing on devices now. I've checked with some of my friends too. Any issue/fixes? Or is it that Apple wanted to test out before ios 10 release?

Seems like they updated their Siri servers with support for news in basically every country a month or so ago. I suddenly got news in Sweden as well, from not having it before. No news app though, and no way to customize sources unfortunately.

Interesting, hopefully they will expand News and Apple Pay to other countries with iOS 10.

I'm getting Spotlight Suggestions only on Cellular data but not on WiFi. Is anybody else experiencing the same thing?

Same here! Strange though. Any fixes? I assume things might work fine after doing a network reset, but I havn't tried yet.

Spotlight Suggestions aren't officially activated in India, so this could Apple doing some internal testing before launching it.

Same here! Strange though. Any fixes? I assume things might work fine after doing a network reset, but I havn't tried yet.

I've tried every possible troubleshooting step including the network reset but it didn't help at all. Has to be something on Apple's side.

But why restrict it to cellular, and how?
Try using a VPN, and change your DNS.

Yes it has started working on my cell side two days. I am from India. Looks like the are activating randomly on a few devices and not all.

I wonder why they've blocked Spotlight Suggestions on WiFi. Maybe something related to improving localization. Hope Apple activates it again soon.

Still not working for me on WiFi. Tried the troubleshooting steps but no success.

There are articles coming out saying support for India but nothing can be said unless Apple updates their website of ios 9 feature support. Spotlight suggestions has not been received on wifi. It's working on mobile data though.

Have you tried on other WiFi networks except your home WiFi? I've but still nothing changes.
