My cellular plan just entered a new month and I’m almost out of data. Looks like Siri is using most of it.
Tonight I went for a short errand. Never used Siri but phone was plugged into CarPlay. I had just reset cellular usage stats before leaving. When I was back on WiFi, iOS reports Siri has used 150mb when I never did anything with it.

is this a known issue?
Is there a way to reset it. I hadn’t seen this issue before.
before resetting my cellular usage stats it was reporting Siri had used 8GB of data. Much more than any app on the phone.
What gives?

That’s crazy. What happens if you shut off “Hey, Siri”? Would that solve it for the time being anyway?

I had enabled sending Siri information to Apple to help improve their recognition.
I turned that off and rebooted and it stopped consuming data.
150mb in 30 minutes sounds like it was streaming all audio up to Apple for the entire time :(
