So I know Siri uses servers for the bulk of the work, but are any functions available without data connection?

If not and no data connection is available, does it go back to the limited voice recognition functionality in previous iOS releases (making calls or selecting music)?

Has anybody tested this out by turning off data?

It needs a data connection.

Also, I think because everyone is using it so much these past couple days it has had brief random outages. For example I was playing with it, just seeing what commands it would and would not respond to (yes I'm still talking about Siri) and all the sudden it couldn't access the weather info.

No big deal, 2 minutes later Siri was back online. Could be my coverage too I guess.
