I have a doubt
I read in some blogs, now is possible "hey siri" without charging the iphone. I think is possible in iPhone 6, but I can´t

Is only possible in 6S?

No jailbreak, I did have both phones on beta program, so not sure if that made it work.

You need to be jailbroken and the tweak installed to work on the 5s or 6. It doesn't work without jailbreaking no matter what iOS or beta you might use.

As in those phones where just lying somewhere not plugged in, with the screen off, and Siri not already running in some fashion, and once "Hey Siri" was heard nearby they just came on by themselves?

It worked on those phones without jailbreak. Wish I still had them to show you.

I used it mainly while the phone was in my shirt pocket or at my desk unplugged and screen off.

Sounds like perhaps some glitch with the particular devices you might have had since that definitely hasn't been the case for most others.

I know...
but as I read one user works for it in 5s and 6...
And it seems like that was perhaps some glitch or something else of that sort. Normally it doesn't work like that for devices prior to iPhone 6s and 6s Plus.

It's not even supposed to work on the 6s in your pocket or face down so definitely a glitch.

Well, you did something that is physically impossible under normal operation. I've just checked on my iPhone 5s running 9.1 b5 (and every prior beta) and it does not work unless plugged in.

What if he had it in one of those battery cases? The phone would then THINK it's plugged in when it's actually not.

If it's charging then it is plugged in. If it plugged in and not charging then it's not charging. Simple as that. No current flow = not charging.

Why do we need 16 responds when the answer was posted in the second post?

You don't understand. Maybe he had it in a battery-case. Therefore it's not plugged into the wall, yet it's still being powered by an external source. Hey Siri would work if that were the case.

It's possible without jailbreak, but you need to be jailbroken before, installed HeySiri Tweak, then not completly removed the jailbreak (I just updated) and it will work without jailbreak (happened to me with iP6+)

It was not in a case either. I actually have my wife's iPhone 6 still. I will upload a video of it doing "Hey Siri" without being plugged in or jailbroken when I get a chance.

I understand exactly what you mean. Charging from a battery case is no different than charging form a wall, thus, 'hey siri' will work. When the battery case is off (and plugged in) it won't work since it's not charging, simple as that.

It will only work on those devices when Siri was active, and they are still unlocked, I think
