Siri's accuracy over the past day

I've noticed that Siri is getting at least half of what I say to her completely wrong. I've been making sure to speak slowly and not mumble and still bonks most of what I say. Before last night, I think it only screwed up a couple of my inputs - even in a noisy environment or if I was stuttering while composing a text and driving.

Anyone else notice Siri getting things wrong lately or am I just having bad luck?

Funny thing - I asked her to find me a CVS on my way to work and she gave me the location of an escort.

Siri has left me disappointed !

I so much wanted it to be great, but it’s constantly getting things wrong, as you have said.
I speak clearly and with (in my opinion) no accent, and it just mistypes or comes up with something totally different.

I may be one of a few who think it’s very very buggy and others may find it perfect, but I have give up on it for the time being. A great feature once working correctly.

Siri doesn't fare well with accents, so that could be a cause.

The more likely cause, I think, could be the way you speak into the phone. A friend of mine used to pretty much yell into the mic at the bottom when talking to Siri, and Siri would get it wrong. With the same iPhone, I'd say it in a normal voice, holding it away from me and not speaking directly into the mic, and it would recognize exactly what I would say.

So the problem could be either with the accent, or with the way you speak into your iPhone. Try just lifting the iPhone up (raise to speak thing), and speak to Siri as if you are having a conversation with her. It should work then!

I talk fast to siri and she gets 99% of what i say correct. it's only terms that can be put together that she sometimes messes up.

i'm a fast talker also but i've had to slow down a little. I also don't talk very clear so slowing down helps me. But after slowing down, Siri gets what say pretty much 99% of the time also.

Now, dictation is different. Its about 70% then. Not sure why so but it is different.

Composing a text from Siri is more accurate then composing from the text screen using dictation.

I've had very good luck with Siri so far, and have made use of the transcription feature more than querying Siri. I've been very, very pleased with the accuracy of transcription, and even tried a test where I tried to talk extra-fast (and say quite a bit) and was pleasantly surprised that it pretty much nailed it. I've probably had more mistakes when querying Siri for things, when I've wanted her to do something that she wasn't quite capable of. I did have one situation where I tried to get her to call a number to a business in my contact list while I was driving and she botched the name, but I just tried it again now and she got it right this time.

Talking with Siri has made me aware of words I tend to mumble. My annunciation is getting better as I try to please her. Of course there are some proper nouns she just doesn't know: Harry Potter, for one.

I just tried it in a VERY noisy environment (at a fair) and it was spot on every word.

Just had some time in the car texting using Siri. It was rough on the replys. Example. Read text. She reads it. Then gives you an option to reply to text. I did by saying reply to text, the she starts looking for fiend my text in maps, every time.

Someone want to test this on theirs?

i think it's going to take some of us a while to figure out how to get the best out of it.

I've played with calendars and alarms and had no problems as well as using timers a lot but I've not had much luck with dictation. Just need to sit down and figure out the best way to help it understand.
