Today’s iOS app update allows you to subscribe to SiriusXM streaming through in app purchases $11.99/month for Streaming Platinum and $8.99/month for Streaming Music&Entertainment

This is progress in 2021! Now if they will only add Siri support/HomePod support!

Value is being able to turn on and off your subscription within Apple subscription area on your iPhone in 15-30 seconds vs doing the dance/hassle of calling every 12 months.

For simplicity I would say using Apple in app billing is a huge step in the right direction. Keeps companies competitive as they know subscribers can easily uncheck/disenroll. SiriusXM is playing catch-up to Spotify and Apple Music that have offered in app purchases for ease of billing. One less login or hassle to deal with every 12 months.

Does that $3/month make a difference from their other promotions? Time will tell but I would guess so for most. Less hassle and 2021 billing technology

Also if the SiriusXM in app subscriptions support Apple family sharing within your household would be awesome. Some apps support this among your six family members and some apps only allow it per a person.

Hey Jennifer Witz kudos! You are moving the company into 2021 for growth and allowing individuals to buy SiriusXM how and when they want too!

This is for their new Streaming only plans either Platinum $11.99/month or Music&Entertainment $8.99/month.

Does not work for car/truck/vehicle satellite receiver plans.

I’m sure this will cause some to review their $15.99-$21.99/month vehicle subscriptions now that the SiriusXM iOS app/in app subscriptions offers these new streaming only plans and CarPlay.

As mentioned they are playing catch-up to Spotify and Apple Music both offered the ease of on/off in app subscriptions. Growth strategy for new subscribers and new younger individuals that don’t have vehicles

Their prices are significantly higher than the other music streaming services... but if you use their website, you can get it for $4.99/month (plus fees - in AZ, it comes to $6.06/month) for a 12 month period... I pay for the service on my wife's card radio, and then I stream it via the app through CarPlay on mine...

I pretty much do the same here in Texas for my car radio. Prices are a bit higher due to taxes ( total = $6.49/month) and after the 12 month period rise up quite a bit unless you call them and negotiate the price.

I'm considering buying a SiriusXM home sat radio kit to hook up to my home system and am wondering if it's worth it to do so.

We also have an Amazon Echo Dot (about $25 on sale) and play SiriusXM through that at home... cheaper than going the XM radio route, and just a reliable...
