I'e been going through several drafts on my site, I have a few coding issues for the most part, though I wonder if I could get a review on other browsers & machines.

www.Sherroddrawings.com

thanks!

I'm using FF on OSX and the navigation is wacky. Your drop downs appear at the top of my page. Seems like a absolute positioning problem.

I've tested it on that one too, my site was having issues this am, and it probably wasn't loading correctly, thanks for the heads up.

it takes very long to load :( can you fix that?
yeah, that's a server issue from my host. We're getting on top of it. This is the first time in 5 years I've ever had a problem, just started today too. I appreciate everyone's feedback/trying.
I think that's why FF on MacOSX was loading the pull downs from the top of the screen, wasn't loaded completely.

again, thanks!
I notice it's running quicker here in the last hour

If the excessive load time or the errors in functionality are because you're tweaking it right now, can you please re-post when the site is actually available to be viewed?

Otherwise, Safari 3.0.3, OS X 10.4.10...

Orange oval - This section just lacks cohesion... it seems to be a bunch of randomly thrown in icons. Your practice name is quite possibly the least prominent thing on the entire page.

Pink oval - this is how the menus look. Here's another example:

Blue oval - what is the purpose of the little icons following every link? They appear to be intended as some sort of visual cue, but they're not used in the standard way that icon is used elsewhere, and follow every link, seeming purposeless.

Green oval - There's an odd stylistic jump here. I don't understand if this is what you intended.

Red ovals - White space between paragraphs would be good.

When this is moused over, the entire thing gets underlined, even though there appear to be individual links for each item.

Hope some of that is helpful. Overall, I like the core design motif. I think if you uncluttered it substantially, the fonts, color scheme (excepting that I think the blue is the wrong highlight color), and some of the visual elements are excellent building blocks.

what a great reply, thanks for the inputs. A few items I've considered, though to hear them again has solidified my dscision.

Still odd on Safari huh, here's my most recent visit:

Oooh, I like that pull down design! (Presuming you can get it to work on other browsers! :p ) ... it would look even nicer, though, I think, if you did something with the menu title ("news" in this case)... something such as completing the box that encapsulates the rest of the menu, with a fade up to the color of the background.

Nice call, like a roll over image that pops up when the pull down menu is enabled. or I could just make the enitre title bar have that back ground,

I'm tellin ya, for some reason, it all works fine on my macs, how bazaar.

ok, again thanks for all the replies, I've been fairly stunned about the quality of responses. This has been the one community I always come back to.

Looks like the one day everyone decides to grade my site is the one day I crashed it while loading all 5 browsers at once 9early this AM) Something about calling upon it made my host's computer freak. We've sinced fixed that problem, and I will be reviewing these well made comments. Again, many thanks.

Using Safari I thought it loaded fast enough and the drop downs worked. I do dig the site. Well done.

Just passin' by... A few things that spring to mind:

1) Where's your logo and/or name in big, bold-as-brass lettering?

2) I can hardly read the links lower left. They hardly contrast with the background on my screen. They also butt right onto the left edge. A one-letter gap would so look much better.

3) The graphics on the right. The vertical distances between the images and text is inconsistent. There is no space between the police box and its text and too much between the house and its text. The gift one looks perfect.

That's about all, but those things give it a slight work-in-progress or not-designed-for-my-browser (Safari) look to me. Otherwise it's a good-looking design (I like the menus).

The logo was somehting I've been struggling with.
good catch on the icons thanks!
