I recently came from a 15" powerbook to a 17" macbook.
I love how the display is spring loaded.

the only problem is, with my laptop, I was able to recline like this lady and lay the computer on my thighs. unfortunately when I do that now, the screen falls over. has anyone found something good to stick between the computer and the display to keep it from falling over? just wondering...

Get some oversized rubber bands, like the ones that are used to hold produce together. Before getting on the floor, pull it around your feet and up to your knees (it may be easier to leave it hanging around your ankles until you're on the floor, so that you don't trip). From there, it's a simple matter of stretching the band forward around the screen so that it will stay in place.

I had a Powerbook 17 and it did the same thing. That was the only thing I did not like about it. Sent it into repairs thinking that the hinge was too loose, but turns out they were (and still are) like that.

It's a fairly heavy screen, and in order for the hinge to move so freely as it does, it appears to be that is just the way it is. :|
