Is it normal to have "other" data to be bigger than 1 gb? Mine is currently 2.11 gb and it literally grew to 2.13 gb after i synced it... is this natural as the other data is cydia stuff? or is it the same glitch non-jailbroken iPhones have?

I really, REALLY do not want to restore my iPhone and have to reinstall every thing again.

edit: I tried syncing it again after making this topic while removing 3 apps (from itunes, not cydia) and it grew to 2.17 gb... what the hell?

I know that after a factory restore to 6.1 on my 4S, the 'other' size should be 840 MB or thereabouts. After JB'ing, mine went up from 900 MB to 1.25 GB. Haven't taken the time yet to look around the file system to see if there's something taking up space needlessly, but I sure would like to know if this is normal behavior.

My other is 1.37GB. The "other" portion is both Cydia tweaks and System storage. How many tweaks do you have installed?

*ALOT* ;_;

Anyway.. I google'd my problem (How to get rid of other on jailbroken iPhones) and this lifehacker article recommended iCleaner (on Cydia)... it decreased my other data from 2.17 GB to 1.75 GB. I am one happy camper.

In conclusion, it was caches and other completely useless data that came from Safari/Cydia/Applications that took up all that space >.>

Problem solved!!

Make sure to use iCleaner from time to time. This made my Other go from 3gb to 1.2gb. There's a lot of junk left behind from installing and removing Cydia apps.

Yep I will! Like many people on this board, this is my first time jailbreaking an iPhone and I'm learning a lot of things~

When I had a vanilla iPhone, I always had to restore my iPhone to get my other data down to 600 - 700 mb. Is there anything I cannot do with jailbreaking? :p

yeah icleaner defi helped me too. while googling this sometime back i came across another app... forgot the name, will look it up and edit this post.
