Size USB for installation above 16gb or above 32gb

Hello I am reading two different recommended sizes for usb to create a bootable usb installer Most read 16gb or more, the other says 32gb or more Anyone done this yet or does anyone know which is correct

Apple's official docs say 12 GB so you'll probably be fine with 16 (I haven't tried it myself).

Wow almost had the update download completed from Apple (got to 8 gb) and then an error So I figure too many trying to download I will try later Sooooo close
