Size/Weither difference between MB and MBP

Hi. I've had a Macbook now for 4 months, and i really life it. I've thought about it, and feel that i could really do with the added features that the MBP has to offer, mainly the screen size and Illuminated Keyboard. The Graphics would help as well, as i play the odd games here and there that the Macbook cannot handle.

My question is, i take my Macbook with me everywhere. If i buy a MBP, is it going to be a lot bigger and heavier then my Macbook, to lug around. I'm starting college soon, and will be taking my laptop with me.

Hmmm, kind of depends on the game and I think quite a few people in the 'gaming on a MB' thread in the games forum wouldn't see eye to eye on you on this one.

On the whole portability issue/which one is best to lug around college issue, there are loads of threads that discuss this, so try a search - I'm sure people will chip in, but you'll probably get more info from these.

It does sound like you fancy getting a MBP though.

The MBP is bigger (footprint-wise) but it's only a few ounces heavier than the MB.

Do some searches on comparisons; there are a lot of photos floating around comparing the two.

However:

15-inch MacBook Pro

The MBP is slightly slimmer, a tad deeper, and barely wider. There isn't a large difference, but in some cases that can be the difference between fitting into an existing backpack/bag you have, and not fitting. I know that's the reason I got a 15" MBP over a 17" (the latter won't fit into most normal messenger/shoulder bags). MBP's are pretty light considering their specs though; finding a similarly priced Dell/Lenovo is easy, but they're generally a bit thicker and heavier (Lenovo's are great though; the keyboards especially).
