1) I’m considering Xtremeskinz over Dbrand because they are cheaper, local and they offer sides coverage (which dbrand doesn’t) but I am afraid of their quality, whereas I already experience with Dbrand on my iPhone and I know they’re good ..

2) will xtremeskinz (or any skin for that matter) remove the paint from the MacBook when peeling them off? Or leave nasty residue?
I am only concerned about any color/paint job damage with the SPACE GRAY

I am aware of the heat dissipation concern, but I’d rather have some protection against everyday scratches rather than going fully case-free

Well, I'd get a cheap folio with a color, or get a folio and put a skin on that. I skinned my 2020 MK, and might live to regret that if I take it off. That's why I suggest skinning a cheap folio. Good luck!

What’s worrying you about taking it off? Seems like the color is actually very hard to peel off, apparently it’s anodised .. now my second worry is how to remove the Dbrand skin from the back of the display, as removing them requires a lot of force and I wouldn’t want to damage anything with the thin display due to the pull force ..
so seems like if I opt for a skin , it better be something I’m very sure about and something im not planning on removing .. more like a tattoo lol
I would want to consider something clear or transparent but I’m not sure which brand to trust other than Dbrand (and they don’t do clear skins)
Which skin do you have?

also I would consider a folio case as an addition to the skin, as a folio case could still scratch the MacBook if stuff like dirt gets in between and I’m searching for skins to avoid scratches mainly
