So I have the Best Skins Ever on my phone now and was searching through the forum for the macbook options... Anybody has it on their brand new MBA? Any issues with heat trapping? Opinions...

I cant post in enough threads how much of a fan I am of invisible shields by ZAGG. Their customer service is outstanding and their product quality is amazing.

I would vote for Wrapsol as I have installed on other idevices(ipad, MBP, etc) that have aluminium surfaces. The matte finish closely resembles aluminum surfaces. Do a search on the reviews.

My wrapsol kit for MBA is in the way and I keep my fingers crossed

I exclusively use Best Skins Ever. Great quality and price point.

I got my wrapsols yesterday. I love the matte finish. Much better looking than zagg or bestskinsever, both of which I have used on many devices in the past. Wrapsol was expensive but considering that I am going to use the wrapsol palm rest protector and not going to get a different palm rest protector (moshi) like I usually do I guess it isn't too bad.

My opinion is definitely to go with the Wrapsol. It's matte finish is amazingly close to the aluminum finish itself. I'm waiting to pick one up for my 13 Macbook Air as well.

I'd get bestskinsever instead. Exact same material as zagg, much lower price, environmentally friendly packaging (comes in an envelope). Only the marketing is worse. I've tried both myself. Although the material is supposed to be the same, it seems like the bestskinsever actually offers better transparency and stays on longer.

Wrapsol has a matte finish that's almost invisible on aluminium. The InvisibleShield has a terrible glossy finish that also gives off an orange-peel effect. It's tolerable on screens (I have one on my iPhone 4, it's OK) but on aluminium, it looks terrible. I applied one to my aluminium MacBook Pro and I got rid of it after a few days.

wrapsol fan

got and installed my wrapsol for my 11.6" mba last night. easy to do...the spray/wet technique is definitely superior to reducing bubbles.

my old macbook black didn't need a skin...nice matte rubber but i didn't want the mba to scratch.

keeps the same matte aluminum look, you hardly know it's there. no heat trapping, the mba is much cooler than the macbook black ever was.

Definitely Wrapsol for me. :) I don't like the orange peel effect on the surfaces. :)

For those with a wrapsol ,does the bottom piece cover the black plastic feet or are there cut-outs?

Thanks

There are cut outs for the feet but not for the screws. Bestskinsever appears to have openings for the screws. Since I do not plan on opening my MBA it is not an issue for me.

Does the Wrapsol come with pieces for the two side edges where the USB ports are located?

No, those parts are not protected with the wrapsol, but it's not like you don't have a case/sleeve for your MBA. The Wrapsol is used to protect it from scratches, and you're most likely going to get them on the bottom area.

True, but I was thinking of using a leather-book type case, and the sides are the two exposed areas. But it's not a big deal if they get a tad scratched up. Thanks for the info!

Would someone with the Wrapsol on their MBA post some pics? I've got a Zagg cart at the mall near me, but if they are glossy I'm thinking I don't want that. A picture of the Wrapsol could sway me to just order that and wait.

Thanks in advance.

I'm still waiting for mine but you can see in this vid. Pretty much invisible, looks really really nice (because you can't see it). :)

There is also a thread below that shows off a MacBook Pro being Wrapsol'd. The first two pics are dead but the last pic isn't. You can see the texture is really good, nothing like the InvisibleShield. Note that the MacBook Air's Wrapsol is better than the MacBook Pro in that it protects the two sides beside the keyboard as well.
