Sky Broadband Unlimited Fibre launches 12th April 2012

Anyone going for this?

My exchange went live on the 31st March. Currently paying about £50 for 8mb broadband and calls and line rental. My current service is great but I've heard great things about sky and i really need the "unlimited" broadband.

Fibre Broadband = £20 a month 40mb down, unlimited.

Good if you can get it, but as it's restricted to urban areas I'd bet that it's likely most who can get this could get Virgin Media's faster fibre service as well.

I live in a little Village in West Sussex and we have got upgrade so there is hope for other towns.

I'm currently with IDNet. Pretty much the best ISP out there. Thinkbroadband have them one of the highest rated if that site is a reliable source?

Its very expensive but needed a good ISP prior to Fibre due to the usual factors. (that did include phone also)

I don't want to give Sky my money .

I've had BT Infinity since August 2010; 40mb down, unlimited bandwidth. We also get free calls (day+night) with broadband for £25 a month. I think for new customers it costs a bit more but we've been with BT for a very long time and had some troubles with them, so they lowered our fee.

....and free traffic shaping unlike skys. Hate traffic shaping.

I haven't had any traffic shaping since moving to Infinity. HTTP, FTP and Torrents are full speed all day. I did have shaping under BT's regular service back in 2008-2010 however.

I complained at BT an awful lot back then, maybe they're just being nice to me .

Thank you for the humour, BT impliment traffic shaping to each and every user on the network. Sky do not.

You might think your service is amazing but compared to a network that does not see traffic shaping it's not as fast.

Sky are the one to watch.

So why do I always get 4-5mb per second download speeds (full 40Mbit), day or night on Steam or Bit torrent? I'm not using anything beyond a firewall and AVG under Windows, and nothing under OSX.
