As title really.

Skype keeps showing up on boot.
It is set to hide in preferences - users - logon items.
Also via dock icon it is NOT set to open on boot.

If you don't want it to open, you can press the minus sign on the bottom of login items window to remove it form the list.

Yes I need be logged in.

with the new skype the skype preferences uses the system preference.

there is no "open at login" option in the skype preference any more.

Skype is used to talk to suppliers at work.
It annoying on boot got wait for it to open then close it.

All options have been set to not open at login, but to hide it on login.

NOT answer as it will not start with the mac.
I do not want remove from list.

I want it start but be hidden. Like run in background, skype does this by default on windows.
It is set to hide as per screen shot but it does not hide.

facebook messenger, thunderbird etc does hide on login.

why does skype not hide.
I need skype to run.

OK it is not a major headache it just annoying it set to hide yet is not hidden on login.

Delete it from the list.It will prevent Skype from opening on login. However, you will still be able to manually open the program.

I get that.

but why does it open and not hide?

all the other apps that are ticked to hide do hide.
Skype does not, yet according to Skype own site Skype startup uses system preferences and has non of it's own.
obviously something is wrong.

I need Skype so I will just have keep closing it to dock on every boot.
If I set it to manual I may forget to open the app and miss messages from my suppliers.
I'd rather live with annoying open on boot than miss messages.

but thanks everyone.
