Does anyone know whats happening with Skype? It's been a year and they still haven't released anything thats native for the M1 chips.

The only reason I complain is because if I use the webcam during a conversation the CPU spikes to 80% :(

I mean they haven't even publicly announced Apple Silicon native support for Teams, which I think is more important than Skype in Microsoft's hierarchy. ??‍♂️

Skype for Business is already EoL.

I would have assumed the consumer version was history as well.

Why not just use Skype in the browser?

I agree with most, that Skype (at least Skype for Business) is EOL and Microsoft are focusing on Teams. I'll bet we'll see a native Teams client in the near future.

I had no idea that was even an option. I'll give it a try now, thanks!

Any movement in the Skype-for-Apple-Silicon front? Unlike for Microsoft Teams, I'm unable to find even a beta build.

Best way to use it would be via web, didn't Business version get a EoL date recently? They migrating to Teams for personal usage as well it seems...

Microsoft Teams is far from a simple client consumer application for Family and Friends. What Microsoft needs to do is remake a MSN messenger style app which has great video calling qualities with it. MSN was fun, the updates were exciting, you could get plugins like Messenger Plus! They were the good days of communicating with friends and family on the PC. Also once you closed Messenger it automatically makes you appear offline rather then keeping you online which makes contacts think you are online in Skype. It needs to be made for Windows x86/Windows ARM/MacOS Silicone/iOS & Android possibly Linux
